B.1 Christ’s Return and the Millennium

Primary texts

Revelation 19:11–20:10 provides the central sequence: the public appearing of Christ, the defeat of the beastly powers, Satan’s binding, the first resurrection, the saints’ reign with Christ for one thousand years, Satan’s release, the final rebellion, and final defeat. Acts 1:9–11 and Zechariah 14 contribute to the expectation of a visible return connected with the earth and Jerusalem.

B.2 The New Heavens and New Earth

Primary texts

Revelation 21–22 describes God dwelling with humanity, death and the curse removed, the Holy City descending, the nations walking in God’s light, and the servants of God seeing His face and reigning forever. Romans 8:18–25 portrays creation itself sharing in liberation. First Corinthians 15 describes the resurrection transformation through which corruption puts on incorruption.

Ethical and institutional source texts

Exodus 23 and Leviticus 25 connect rest with land, people, servants, animals, and provision. Deuteronomy 15 limits debt’s ability to become permanent bondage and commands open-handed care for the poor. Leviticus 25 prices land according to remaining harvest years, protects redemption, and declares that the land ultimately belongs to God.
